The Prayers

• Novena to the Holy Ghost – Each day contains all the prayers needed for that day, which can be said by one person or by two or more, as indicated by the color scheme. The Novena can be prayed at any time but with partial indulgences during the 9 days leading into Pentecost Sunday.
  • Day 1 – The Gift of The Holy Spirit
  • Day 2 – The Gift of Fear
  • Day 3 – The Gift of Piety
  • Day 4 – The Gift of Fortitude
  • Day 5 – The Gift of Knowledge
  • Day 6 – The Gift of Understanding
  • Day 7 – The Gift of Counsel
  • Day 8 – The Gift of Wisdom
  • Day 9 – The Fruits of the Holy Spirit

Special note: The novena in honor of the Holy Spirit is the oldest of all novenas since it was first made at the direction of Our Lord Himself when He sent His apostles back to Jerusalem to await the coming of the Holy Spirit on the first Pentecost. It is still the only novena officially prescribed by the Church. Addressed to the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity, it is a powerful plea for the light, strength, and love so sorely needed by every Christian.
